How to Get the Best Reading from a Credible Medium or Psychic
For centuries, people have turned to oracles, psychics, astrologers, and mediums for insight and support. Even today, politicians, celebrities, business leaders, and everyday people find value in intuitive guidance—both personally and professionally. And yet, many still feel unsure, skeptical, or even embarrassed to seek out a psychic or medium.
As someone who’s done thousands of readings over the years, I want to help you feel more empowered and comfortable when connecting with a reader. Whether it's your first session or your fiftieth, here are a few things I’ve learned that can help you get the most out of your experience:
1. Release Expectations
The #1 way to have a disappointing session? Expecting it to look a certain way. Every reading is unique. Trust that you’ll receive what you need, not necessarily what you want. Don’t compare your session to someone else’s. Be present, be open, and let the experience unfold.
2. Choose the Right Reader for You
No two psychics or mediums work the same way. Some use tools (cards, crystals, pendulums), others don’t. Some make predictions, others focus on energy, healing, or spirit communication. Find someone who resonates with you through referrals, testimonials, or a simple gut feeling. A reputable reader won’t be offended if you ask questions beforehand or want to ensure it’s a good fit.
🚩Red flag? Anyone who guarantees lottery numbers, removes curses (for a fee), or promises to fix your love life overnight. Also, nobody should ever tell you what you should do or not do.
3. Come with Questions
It’s your session, ask what you need to know! You don’t have to spill your whole life story, but asking direct questions gives the reader something to tune into. And no, it’s not “cheating” to ask if it’s aligning your energy and intention with the guidance available to you.
4. Understand the Limits (and Magic) of Mediumship
Yes, your loved ones still love you. Yes, they’re proud. No, they don’t care who got the ring or the house. They show up with love, validation, and sometimes surprising humor (“Did you burn the soup yesterday?”).
Mediums are messengers and we can’t make your uncle’s spirit recite your childhood nickname on command. But we can deliver meaningful, accurate validations…if you’re open to receiving them.
I always tell my clients, “we’re just like mail person delivering the mail to you. They don’t know what’s in the letter, or need to know what’s inside the envelope, in order to deliver it to you. It’s your mail and you need to open it to see what’s inside”. We can assess and deliver, and even help you maybe make sense of it, but they’re not our messages. We don’t always know you or the person we’re talking to on the other side.
5. Psychics Aren’t Mind Readers
We don’t know everything about your life, family tree, or job unless spirit shows us. And that’s the beauty of it when we tell you something we couldn’t have known, and it resonates deeply, that’s real magic. It validates what you already know in your heart.
6. How I Read
Personally, I don’t use cards or tools, I read energy. I hear, see, feel, and just know. Sometimes it’s like a download that comes all at once, but it’s always clear and specific to you. Others may work differently. Again, it’s not about who’s better, just who’s the right fit for you.
7. Phone vs. In-Person? Both Work!
Energy knows no boundaries. Phone, Zoom, in-person, it all works the same. In fact, phone sessions can be even more powerful because you’re more relaxed. If spirit can connect across dimensions, do you really think they care about Wi-Fi?
8. Skeptical? That’s Okay
Healthy skepticism is great. Rudeness and "testing" the psychic? Not so much. Respect the space, and you’ll get so much more out of it.
9. Take Notes or Record
You’re going to receive a lot. You won’t remember it all. A good reader will encourage you to record your session or jot things down so you can revisit the messages when they fully land.
10. Spiritual Guidance Is Not a Substitute for Medical Care
Please remember: intuitive guidance is powerful and healing, but it’s not a replacement for medical, psychological, or professional help when needed. Always honor all aspects of your well-being.
11. Trust the Timing
Just because a message doesn’t make sense right away doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Spirit doesn’t follow a clock. Be patient, many messages unfold over time.
In Closing…
A session with a credible psychic or medium can bring deep healing, comfort, clarity, and even joy. There may be tears, but there will also be laughter.
Most of all, come with an open heart. The magic lives there.
Be well, be open, be love, be light, be joyous, be beautiful, be kind, be humble, be fun.
